چکیده

The pathogenesis of diabetic retinopathy is still challenging, with recent evidence proving the key role inflammation in damage retinal neurovascular unit. This study aims to investigate predictive value neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte (PLR), lymphocyte-to-monocyte (LMR), and systemic index (SII) for (DR) its severity. We performed a retrospective on 129 T2DM patients, divided into three groups: without (NDR), non-proliferative DR (NPDR), proliferative (PDR). NLR, MLR, SII were significantly higher PDR group when compared NDR NPDR (3.2 ± 1.6 vs. 2.4 0.9 1.1; p = 0.005; 0.376 0.216 0.269 0.083 0.275 0.111, 0.001; 754.4 514.4 551.5 215.1 560.3 248.6, 0.013, respectively). was correlated serum creatinine (OR: 2.551), NLR 1.645), MPV 1.41), duration diabetes 1.301). Logistic regression analysis identified models very good discrimination power (AUC ROC 0.803, 0.809, 0.830, respectively): combining and, respectively, PLR, MPV, creatinine. SII, LMR associated could be useful integrated comprehensive risk prediction models.

Predictors for diabetic retinopathy in normoalbuminuric people with type 2 diabetes mellitus

BACKGROUND Previous studies have reported that microalbuminuria is an independent risk factor for the prevalence of diabetic retinopathy (DR) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM). For this reason, the clinical significance of DR in normoalbuminuric type 2 DM patients may be overlooked. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of DR and predictors for DR in normoalbuminu...

Investigating the Molecular miRNAs as Biomarkers of Type 2 Diabetes

Introduction: Biomarkers would significantly improve the early detection of the disease and identification of individuals at risk of emerging complications. Diabetes mellitus is a group of diverse and complex metabolic disorders. Both type 1 diabetes (T1D) and type 2 diabetes (T2D) mellitus are associated with distinct alterations in the profile of MicroRNAs (miRNAs) in the blood, which are som...
